Empowering decisions, improving outcomes

Our mission at HealthEquity is to save and improve lives by empowering healthcare consumers. As experts in our field, we are driven to help bridge the gap in financial literacy and confidence.

Purple with Purpose: building stronger communities through action

Purple with Purpose is HealthEquity’s commitment to purpose-driven action. We engage our team members in meaningful volunteer opportunities that reflect our values and advance our mission — improving lives by supporting health, wellness, quality of life, and financial confidence in the communities we serve.

The Purple with Purpose program gives team members the opportunity to support 501(c)(3) organizations they are passionate about. Each full-time team member can use up to 16 hours of annual volunteer time off (VTO) for community service, and part-time team members can use up to 8 hours.

Guided by Purple with Purpose Champions, the program also organizes group volunteer activities in six regions that have significant team member presence. Our Purple with Purpose Champions partner with many organizations for team members to use their VTO.

To offer more ways for our remote team members to give back, Purple with Purpose partners with Lemontree - a nonprofit focused on combating food insecurity. Through Lemontree’s innovative SMS helpline and online database, HealthEquity volunteers can connect individuals in need to vital resources like food banks, soup kitchens, pantries, and SNAP programs from anywhere.

By offering personalized, location-based food resource lists, we’re using technology to make a meaningful impact, helping families access the assistance they need.

HealthEquity Community Foundation: Building financial literacy and healthcare confidence in the communities where we live and work

In 2024 we proudly introduced the HealthEquity Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that align with four critical focus areas:

Financial education and literacy

Gaps in financial education and literacy often prevent people from reaching their full potential. We support organizations that focus efforts on bridging those gaps—particularly for women, children, and other under-resourced communities.

Equitable access to healthcare

Our transformative approach to healthcare allows us to use our skills, products, and services to directly address the inequities in healthcare access and self-advocacy. Both individuals and under-resourced communities can benefit from true health equity.

Mental health and crisis intervention

Mental health is a cornerstone to wellness in both the community and in the workforce. We believe in supporting a community’s access to mental health care and crisis response.

Through these efforts, the HealthEquity Community Foundation seeks to empower communities, address pressing challenges, and create pathways for lasting impact. Learn more about the HealthEquity Community Foundation’s impact here.
